Holy Cross is a Catholic Voluntary Aided Primary School for boys and girls aged 3 to 11 years, with a part time nursery. It is situated at the southern end of South Ockendon, standing in its own pleasant grounds of approximately 8 acres. Our part-time Nursery Class takes children from 3 years with a maximum of 26 places (morning and afternoon). The Governors admit 30 children in the reception class.
Our school is Christ-centred and based on Gospel values. It was founded by the La Sainte Union order who remain its trustees. We aim to educate the child as a whole being, taking account of their spiritual, academic, emotional, social and physical needs.
We believe that every child has the right to the best possible education that we can provide. We recognise that children have differing abilities and will learn in different ways.
The community of our school is a rich one because of the many cultural traditions brought and shared by our families, teachers, Governors and the associate staff. Though we come, directly or indirectly, from many parts of the world, we are united by our faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour of the world.
