Ormiston Park Academy is an 11-19 mixed academy sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust.
We have staff who are devoted to providing the best education possible, and students of whom we are extremely proud, the mix creates an Academy that is a pleasure to work and learn in.
The Academy offers a safe and secure environment in which to succeed and we passionately pursue with our students the highest possible achievements. Our vision is for students to build a self-belief and confidence that affords them no boundaries, and to couple that with the respect and discipline required to be leaders of the future.
We are committed to a strong home-academy partnership and actively support parent/carer engagement in our work. We offer an extensive enrichment and extended school programme of activities.
The Academy holds both Healthy School and International School status, and has been granted a British Council Platinum award for its work in Connecting Classrooms. It is an Edward de Bono Thinking School, with Trainer status, has operated as a Student Engagement Trust demonstration site and engages in Continuing Professional Development as part of the Thurrock Teaching School Alliance. It has been granted Investors in People status and more recently has been accredited as a Microsoft Office Specialist provider.
The Academy has a small but growing Sixth Form and offers a range of level 3 vocational courses alongside a full range of planned work experience, leisure and recreation opportunities, and supported individual study. In addition, students are able to undertake A levels in the core subjects and access a wide range of courses made available through a strategic partnership with South Essex College.
As part of the Government’s Combined Cadet Force expansion programme the Academy now runs a Combined Cadet Force (Army Section). This affords students outstanding leadership and teamwork opportunities.
