On Thursday 23rd August, students from across the borough collected their GCSE results and celebrated two years of hard work.
An impressive 62% of Thurrock students achieved a Level 4 and above in English and Maths combined which is an increase on last year’s results.
Cllr James Halden, Portfolio Holder for Education and Health, said: “I want to congratulate all of those receiving their results, everyone should be proud of the hard work they’ve put into achieving them.
“Thank you also to students’ families, teaching staff and school governors who have supported Thurrock students in achieving excellent results. I wish all our students the very best of luck for the future.
“We will continue to have high aspirations for all our young people in the borough and support our schools and academies to achieve this. To meet the demand for new secondary school places we are investing £70million in new schools and expansions.”
