Thurrock is a fantastic place to train, especially if you are thinking of becoming a qualified teacher! We offer a range of options such as School Centred Initial Teacher Training, Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and even Certificate in Education (Cert. Ed.) for those who don’t have a degree. If you are already a teacher, the support we give existing teachers through NQTS is a source of pride for Thurrock. We have developed a partnership with the highly respected Institute of Education to deliver a range of bespoke Thurrock leadership programmes. These include NQT +1, Early Leadership, Developing Middle Leaders, and Widening Leadership for more experienced members of staff.

Being both on the river and close to London, Thurrock is served by excellent connections making commuting to work and travelling the country both quick and easy. Thurrock’s direct link with the M25 connects you effortlessly to anywhere in the country, without the threat of long country roads. Furthermore, for those of you who like to travel by train, you can get to London in just 35 minutes! Also, the Ebbsfleet Eurostar terminal is a 25-minute drive away, making that long needed weekend getaways much more achievable and affordable.
