Kenningtons Primary Academy was established as an academy converter in 2012 and since then has gone from strength to strength. We have been judged consistently ‘Good’ by Ofsted, have performed well in local league tables, and continue to expand in terms of pupil numbers. We are proud of the high standards we set for pupils and staff. We regularly welcome teacher trainees to our team, and are experienced in supporting them to achieve their full potential.
Kenningtons pupils and staff benefit from an extensive school site, which includes two playgrounds, a large field area, two nature zones, and allotment and an animal zone. Our school is composed of two main buildings, both of which have generously sized classrooms, halls and rooms for teacher PPA time. All classrooms at Kenningtons have been recently renovated as part of our ongoing improvement works and are supplied with smart TVs for teaching.
Every child at Kenningtons is treated as an individual and we pride ourselves on offering a bespoke experience for all. Our approach to teacher CPD also follows this ethos. At Kenningtons we support staff to use their individual skills and interests (such as art or language) to develop areas of specialist responsibility in the school and to undertake further education if desired.
Technology has an important place at Kenningtons. All teachers receive a laptop and iPad for use in planning and delivering lessons. ICT lessons are conducted with the use of whole-class sets of laptops and iPads. We have a team of pupil e-cadets who support their peers in developing their use of technology and an ICT specialist.
