St Joseph’s is a vibrant Catholic Voluntary Aided Primary School for both boys and girls, serving the Parish of Our Lady and St Joseph, Stanford-le-Hope, which forms part of the Diocese of Brentwood.
We believe that a school should be a fun place for everyone and we are committed to creating a manageable work-life balance for all our staff. In a recent survey completed by our teachers everyone felt supported by our leadership team in this area.
St. Joseph’s believes in a creative curriculum where children are offered authentic & purposeful challenges in order to stimulate their thirst for learning. This is a happy community school where our strong values drive our decision-making, leading to good outcomes for our children.
The partnership with parents is good. Parents say they feel the new website and use of text messaging has improved communication. Parents appreciate the ‘workshops’ about important aspects of learning that help them support their children better. (Ofsted April, 2016)
Stanford-le-Hope is home to many commuters working in London, and its c2c-operated Fenchurch Street to Southend rail link is a short walk from the school.
There has been much development in this area with DP World London Gateway Port, just a stone’s throw away, bringing the biggest ships of the day back to London and closer to one of the largest consumer markets in Western Europe.
Locally there are a number of parks and nature reserves, notably Thurrock Thameside Nature Reserve, with a visitor centre providing views up and down the Thames across both industrial and natural landscapes including the Mucking Flats SSSI.
If you are new to St Joseph’s, please be reminded that nothing beats an actual visit so if you are considering joining our team, please do not hesitate in contacting us directly and organising a visit so that you can see us in action for yourselves.
